2. Was diese Website und die App tun
HeartBeat Running ist ein clientseitiges Analyse-Dashboard für Apple-Health-Exporte von Läufer:innen (Laufdaten, Herzratenvariabilität/Stress, Wetter-Korrelation, Körperzusammensetzung). Diese Website stellt das Projekt vor und stellt die App als Live-Demo bereit. Die eigentliche Analyse läuft vollständig lokal in Ihrem Browser auf Ihrem Gerät.
3. Gesundheitsdaten – keine Verarbeitung durch uns
Ihre Gesundheits- und Trainingsdaten verlassen Ihr Gerät nicht. Ein importierter Apple-Health-Export wird ausschließlich lokal in Ihrem Browser verarbeitet und gespeichert (IndexedDB bzw. localStorage). Es findet kein Upload der Exportdatei statt, es gibt keine Server-Komponente, die Gesundheitsdaten empfängt, und wir haben zu keinem Zeitpunkt Zugriff auf diese Daten. Der Import liest bewusst keinen Namen aus dem Export aus; verarbeitet werden nur Mess- und Trainingswerte, Geburtsjahr, Geschlecht und Größe – alles nur lokal.
Da diese besonderen Kategorien personenbezogener Daten (Gesundheitsdaten, Art. 9 DSGVO) das Gerät nicht verlassen und von uns nicht erhoben, übermittelt oder gespeichert werden, findet insoweit keine Verarbeitung durch uns als Verantwortlichen statt. Das Löschen der lokal gespeicherten Daten ist jederzeit über die Browser-Funktionen (Websitedaten löschen) möglich.
4. Aufruf der Website (Server-Logfiles)
Beim Aufruf dieser Website verarbeitet der Hosting-Provider automatisch technisch notwendige Zugriffsdaten in Server-Logfiles, insbesondere: IP-Adresse, Datum und Uhrzeit des Zugriffs, abgerufene Seite/Datei, Referrer-URL sowie Browser- und Betriebssystemangaben. Diese Daten dienen der technischen Auslieferung, Stabilität und Sicherheit der Website und werden nicht mit anderen Datenquellen zusammengeführt. Rechtsgrundlage ist Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO (berechtigtes Interesse an einem sicheren, störungsfreien Betrieb).
Umfang und Speicherdauer dieser Server-Logfiles richten sich nach dem eingesetzten Hosting-Anbieter.
5. Lokale Speicherung im Browser
Diese Website speichert lediglich Ihre Sprachwahl (DE/EN) lokal in Ihrem Browser (localStorage), damit sie beim nächsten Besuch erhalten bleibt. Es werden keine Cookies zu Analyse- oder Tracking-Zwecken gesetzt, es findet kein Tracking und keine Reichweitenmessung statt. Die App speichert Ihren importierten Datenstand ebenfalls ausschließlich lokal (siehe Ziffer 3).
6. Wetterabfrage (optional, nur in der App)
Nutzen Sie in der App aktiv die Funktion „Wetter nachladen", werden Ort/Koordinaten sowie der betreffende Datumsbereich an den Deutschen Wetterdienst (DWD) (technisch bereitgestellt über die freie API Bright Sky) übermittelt, um Wetterdaten abzurufen. Geben Sie einen Ortsnamen ein, wird dieser zur Ermittlung der Koordinaten zusätzlich an OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) gesendet. Dabei werden keine Gesundheitsdaten übertragen – ausschließlich Ort/Datum für die Wetterabfrage. Diese Übermittlung erfolgt nur auf Ihre aktive Auslösung. Rechtsgrundlage ist Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO (Einwilligung durch aktive Nutzung) bzw. lit. f (berechtigtes Interesse an der Funktion). Ohne diese Aktion findet keinerlei Netzwerkkommunikation statt.
7. Keine Weitergabe, kein Tracking
Es erfolgt keine Weitergabe personenbezogener Daten zu Werbezwecken. Es sind keine Analyse-, Tracking- oder Social-Media-Dienste eingebunden.
8. Ihre Rechte
Sie haben – im Rahmen der gesetzlichen Voraussetzungen – das Recht auf Auskunft (Art. 15), Berichtigung (Art. 16), Löschung (Art. 17), Einschränkung der Verarbeitung (Art. 18), Datenübertragbarkeit (Art. 20) sowie Widerspruch (Art. 21 DSGVO). Zur Ausübung genügt eine formlose Nachricht an mail@digitise.gmbh.
Ihnen steht zudem ein Beschwerderecht bei einer Datenschutz-Aufsichtsbehörde zu, etwa der Landesbeauftragten für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.
9. Hinweis zum Status & Haftungsausschluss
HeartBeat Running ist ein experimenteller Prototyp, der teilweise mithilfe von KI (Anthropic Claude) erstellt wurde. Es handelt sich nicht um ein medizinisches oder wissenschaftlich validiertes Produkt. Kennzahlen wie der Stress-Index sind rechnerische Näherungen (Proxys), keine klinischen Messwerte; Normalbereiche und Ampeln sind grobe, alters- und geschlechtsbezogene Faustregeln aus öffentlich zugänglichen Richtwerten.
Kein Medizinprodukt. Die App dient ausschließlich Informations- und Fitnesszwecken und ist kein Medizinprodukt im Sinne des Medizinprodukterechts; sie liefert keine Diagnose, Therapie, Prävention oder medizinische Bewertung. Die Auswertungen ersetzen keine professionelle Einschätzung durch Fachkräfte aus Sport, Medizin oder dem Gesundheitswesen und stellen keine ärztliche Beratung dar. Es besteht keine wissenschaftliche Gewähr und keine Garantie für ein fehlerfreies oder korrektes Funktionieren. Die Nutzung erfolgt auf eigene Verantwortung.
Keine Verbindung zu Apple. Dies ist ein unabhängiges Projekt und nicht mit Apple Inc. verbunden, von Apple weder unterstützt noch geprüft. „Apple", „Apple Health" und „Apple Watch" sind Marken von Apple Inc. Die App liest lediglich eine von Ihnen selbst erstellte Health-Exportdatei und verwendet keine HealthKit-Schnittstellen von Apple.

2. What this website and the app do
HeartBeat Running is a client-side analysis dashboard for runners' Apple Health exports (run data, heart-rate variability/stress, weather correlation, body composition). This website introduces the project and provides the app as a live demo. The actual analysis runs entirely locally in your browser on your device.
3. Health data – not processed by us
Your health and training data never leave your device. An imported Apple Health export is processed and stored exclusively locally in your browser (IndexedDB or localStorage). The export file is never uploaded, there is no server component that receives health data, and we have no access to this data at any time. The import deliberately does not read any name from the export; only measurement/training values, birth year, sex and height are processed, all locally only.
Because these special categories of personal data (health data, Art. 9 GDPR) do not leave your device and are not collected, transmitted or stored by us, there is no processing by us as the controller in this respect. You can delete the locally stored data at any time via your browser (clear site data).
4. Accessing the website (server log files)
When you access this website, the hosting provider automatically processes technically necessary access data in server log files, in particular: IP address, date and time of access, page/file requested, referrer URL, and browser/operating-system details. This data serves the technical delivery, stability and security of the website and is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, reliable operation).
The scope and retention period of these server log files depend on the hosting provider used.
5. Local storage in the browser
This website only stores your language choice (DE/EN) locally in your browser (localStorage) so it is retained on your next visit. No cookies for analytics or tracking are set; there is no tracking or audience measurement. The app also stores your imported data exclusively locally (see section 3).
6. Weather lookup (optional, in the app only)
If you actively use the "Fetch weather" feature in the app, a location/coordinates plus the relevant date range are sent to Germany's national weather service, the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) (technically provided via the free Bright Sky API) to retrieve weather data. If you enter a place name, it is additionally sent to OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) to determine the coordinates. No health data is transmitted, only location/date for the weather lookup. This transmission occurs only upon your active request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent through active use) or (f) (legitimate interest in the feature). Without this action, no network communication takes place at all.
7. No sharing, no tracking
No personal data is shared for advertising purposes. No analytics, tracking or social-media services are integrated.
8. Your rights
Subject to the legal requirements, you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). To exercise them, an informal message to mail@digitise.gmbh is sufficient.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
9. Status note & disclaimer
HeartBeat Running is an experimental prototype, created in part with the help of AI (Anthropic Claude). It is not a medical or scientifically validated product. Metrics such as the stress index are computational approximations (proxies), not clinical measurements; normal ranges and traffic lights are rough, age- and sex-based rules of thumb from publicly available reference values.
Not a medical device. The app is provided for information and fitness purposes only and is not a medical device within the meaning of medical-device law; it does not provide any diagnosis, treatment, prevention or medical assessment. The analyses do not replace a professional assessment by specialists in sport, medicine or healthcare and do not constitute medical advice. There is no scientific warranty and no guarantee of error-free or correct operation. Use is at your own risk.
Not affiliated with Apple. This is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed or reviewed by Apple Inc. "Apple", "Apple Health" and "Apple Watch" are trademarks of Apple Inc. The app only reads a Health export file you create yourself and does not use Apple's HealthKit interfaces.
